Privacy Policy

The Pedal Collaborative ("TPC", "we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

1. Information We Collect

Account information: When you create an account, we collect your email address and, optionally, a display name and username. If you sign in with Apple, we receive only the information Apple chooses to share (typically an email address or Apple-anonymised relay address). Usernames are public if you enable a public profile.

Pedal collection data: We store the gear you add — pedals owned, wishlisted, or retired — along with any notes, acquisition details, serial numbers, and photos you provide.

Player profile: If you complete the tone profile questionnaire, we store your answers (playing style, genre preferences, heroes, etc.) to power AI recommendations.

In-app activity: We record your use of features like the Custom Shop, Advisor, weekly picks, and boards to improve recommendations and app performance.

Public profile: If you enable a public profile, your username, display name, and selected vault contents become visible to other users and to the public. You control this setting and can disable it at any time from your profile.

Device information: We collect standard device and crash data to diagnose issues.

Photos: Pedal photos you upload are stored securely and associated with your account only.

2. How We Use Your Information

Provide and personalise the app experience
Generate AI-powered gear recommendations (via Anthropic's Claude)
Show your collection value and market data
Send push notifications you opt into (weekly picks, price alerts)
Process and manage your TPC Pro subscription
Improve the app and fix bugs

3. Third-Party Services

We work with the following services, each with their own privacy policies:

Supabase — database, authentication, and file storage
Anthropic — AI recommendation engine (Claude). Your tone profile and collection summary may be sent to Anthropic to generate recommendations. No personally identifiable information is included in AI prompts.
Apple — Sign in with Apple authentication and in-app purchase / subscription management via the App Store
RevenueCat — subscription status and entitlement management
Reverb — used-gear marketplace data for pricing and listings
Google — optional Google Sign-In authentication

4. Data Retention

We keep your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all your data — pedals, boards, photos, profile, and preferences — is permanently deleted within 24 hours.

5. Your Rights

Access: You can view all your data in the app at any time.
Deletion: You can delete your account and all associated data directly in the app (Profile → Delete Account).
Portability: Contact us to request an export of your data.
Correction: You can update your profile and collection data in the app at any time.

6. Push Notifications

We may send push notifications for weekly pedal picks, price drop alerts, and re-engagement reminders. You can disable these at any time in your device's notification settings.

7. Children's Privacy

TPC is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We'll notify you of material changes via the app or email. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance.
